Pathway-Specific Plasticity in a Developing Sensory Circuit Pathway-Specific Plasticity in a Developing Sensory Circuit. Kaneko et al. show a novel mechanism that enables the nervous system to establish long-lasting functional changes in a sensory pathway-specific manner. They demonstrate that, by enhancing feedback inhibition, noxious inputs during development specifically reduce the function of the nociceptive circuit.
