Streptomyces Exploration / Trends in Microbiology (Vol. 25 Issue 7) In this video and the accompanying review in Trends in Microbiology, Stephanie Jones and Marie Elliot examine a newly discovered type of growth in Streptomyces called exploration that occurs during growth with yeast. Exploration in Streptomyces allows for rapid movement over a surface and occurs when there is a low level of glucose and can be communicated to distant cells by volatile trimethylamine allowing for both cooperation
