Context- and Output Layer-Dependent Ensemble Plasticity in the OB Context- and Output Layer-Dependent Ensemble Plasticity in the OB. Using chronic imaging in awake behaving mice, Yamada, Bhaukaurally et al. discovered two distinct forms of long-term ensemble plasticity in the olfactory bulb: (1) mitral cell- and active learning-specific improvement of pattern separation and (2) cell-type- and context-independent reorganization of sensory representations.
