Allele Expression Effects in the Brain. A new in vivo screen by the Gregg lab uncovers novel maternal and paternal allele expression effects in the mouse and primate brain. In the context of a heterozygous mutation, these effects cause some cells to preferentially express the mutated allele, while others express the wild-type allele.
