Genetic Variation v. Environmental Contaminants in Striped Bass in the Anacostia River Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) not only affect the water quality but also the organisms in the river. Bass fish have been found to be particularly sensitive to EDCs, leading to fish kills along the east coast shore of the US. Studies have hinted at the culprit ultimately being fragmented habitats. This study focuses on mutations in aromatase B, a gene that converts androgen to estrogen in striped bass. 5MSF
