Dynamics of group hunting and collective evasion Handegard et al. develop a technique based on high-frequency sonar to track fine-scale predator-prey interactions. They use this technique in the field to quantify information transfer and collective response in prey schools (juvenile Gulf menhaden) under attack from predators (spotted sea trout) and demonstrate that predation is associated with reduced information transfer in prey schools.
