Temporal error detection triggers memory reconsolidation The retrieval of previously formed memory triggers the lability of that memory for a short time and its reconsolidation. However, what exactly triggers memory reconsolidation is not known. Here, Diaz-Mataix et al. show that in order to initiate this process, new information has to be presented during the retrieval of memory.
