Memory Enhancement by Targeting NR2B Cell Surface Regulation Many neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, are characterized by learning and memory deficits, for which cognitive enhancement is considered a valid treatment strategy. Plattner and colleagues present here a novel regulatory mechanism that is critical to NMDA receptor function and that may be a suitable target for the development of cognitive enhancers. For more information, see Plattner et al., Neuron 81(5).
