What's Next: Faculty Research, Nathan Jacobs

Assistant Professor of Computer Science Nathan Jacobs is looking for ways to understand images in new ways. His research specifically focuses on understanding images of outdoor scenes collected from web cams or images uploaded to social networking sites. He can begin to understand what the images mean by extracting patterns from large sets of images. He then builds algorithms that take advantage of these patterns in order to create predictions about the world around us.
