Welcome to TripLitCafe!

A trip begins long before you arrive at your destination. Before you depart, you begin to consider where you’re going and how you’re going to get there. Sometimes you pick the destination, but just as often, the destination picks you. You see an ad on TV, a glossy brochure, a friend’s photos, or an alluring Web site.

Or you read a book. And you are instantly transported down the street, across a continent, or halfway around the globe. Be it a work of great literature, a pulp novel, a historical account of a specific time and place, a travel guide or any other book, .you know -- 5, 10, 20 pages in -- that you MUST go see this place for yourself.

That’s what TripLitCafe is all about – discovering the books that help us discover the world, and then sharing, discussing, dissecting and debating both these books and the journeys they inspire and enhance. This is an online meeting place for passionate travelers and readers who understand that the right book can launch an epic voyage – either before you leave, while you are on the road, or if you never even leave your couch.

So come join us – because every great journey begins by turning to page 1.

How to get started.
